Fire Services Administration Major


Complete all institutional graduation requirements.

Fire Services Administration requires a minimum of 75 credits to complete the major. A “C-” grade or better is required in all graded Anthropology and Sociology courses that are used to meet program requirements. A 2.00 GPA or better in all transcribed Anthropology or Sociology courses, including both transferred courses and those taken at EOU, is required to complete the program. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements. Online only program

Admission to the program: Pass FSA 202 with a C- or better, transfer to EOU with an FSA degree from a CC, Wildland Firefighter I Certification, or obtain permission from the program chain (in the case ASL was transferred in for FSA 202).

~OPTIONAL~ WILDLAND FIRE TRACK - Lower Division Required Courses: 24 credits


Students can follow an optional Wildland Track in leu of the lower division required courses listed above.

    Wildland Interface Fire Fighter (FFT2) certification

    Introduction to ICS (ICS-100)  
      Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (L-180)  
      Firefighter Training (S-130)  
      Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190)  
      NIMS: An Introduction (IS700)  
      Annual Fireline Safety Refresher (RT-130)

     

    Advanced Wildland Interface Fire Fighter (FFT1) certification

    Annual Fireline Safety Refresher (RT-130)  
      Firefighter Type 1 (S-131)  
      Look Up, Look Down, Look Around (S-133)

     

    **NOTE: Courses for Wildland Firefighter I & II certification are reviewed annually by NWCG and may change title or number. If the courses were not transcripted by an academic institution, EOU will offer to transcript the courses per existing ASL policy.

Upper Division Support Area: 24 credits


Choose 24 credits from the following courses:

Oregon students should choose UD support courses that fulfill Oregon DPSST FO IV requirements. (NFPA 1021 FO IV requirements adopted by the Oregon Legislature)

**Courses in GIS, Forestry, Rangeland & Natural Resource Management, and Leadership highly recommended.

Capstone: 3 credits
