Spanish Minor

A minimum of 24-32 graded credit hours. Choose either Option #1 or Option #2 from below based on your proficiency level.
At least 15 credit hours must be upper division
A minimum grade of “C-” is required in all courses counting toward the minor and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 is required to complete the minor. 
A minimum of 10 graded credit hours counting toward the minor must be completed at Eastern Oregon University. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements.
Students traveling abroad on a recognized study abroad program should have their courses approved by a faculty member in the Spanish program before traveling to ensure that they will fulfill the requirements of the minor.
Electives must be selected from upper-division courses in literature, culture, film, or translation in which the majority of the course is conducted in Spanish and reading and writing assignments are in Spanish.

Option #2: 24 Credits


Students with prior experience may, with Spanish faculty approval, complete Option #2

Oral Proficiency Exam


Prior to graduation, students must complete an Oral Proficiency Exam (given by arrangement), demonstration achievement or a rating of Intermediate-High on the ACTFL scale.

Total credits required for major: 24-32


If the requirements for the minor are not met at the time of graduation, the minor will not be awarded
