English for Speakers of Other Languages Graduate Endorsement

This endorsement is designed for those seeking an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Candidates may add this endorsement to a license by completing the course of study, including 60 clock hours of practicum, and obtaining a passing score on NES ESOL exam.
Eastern will only accept 1 transfer course (3 credit equivalent) towards this program, the course must be approved by the Program Coordinator. [Online only endorsement]
The ESOL Practicum (ED 547) and ED 548 must be completed through EOU. Prior to enrolling in the ED 547 practicum, candidates must clear the TSPC fingerprinting, background check, and PA1 or a current valid teaching license in the state of Oregon.
 
Candidates must clear the TSPC fingerprinting, background check, and PA1, and have a passing score on the ORELA Civil Rights Exam or a current valid teaching license in the state of Oregon.

 

Prerequisites: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree

Required Courses: 15 credits
