MATH 220 - Methods of Tutoring Mathematics

Study and practice in one-to-one conferencing and mentoring skills in seminar discussion, small groups, and in the Math Lab. Course focuses on teaching tutors to assist students in learning skills that lead to independence. Various approaches to tutoring and increased understanding of the scaffolding of mathematical concepts and hard skills are emphasized. Students engage in observations, practice, and reflection on the principles and topics discussed in the class.
