Credits: 5

The History of Rodeo in the United States teaches students relational cause and effect between local, regional, and national history. The synergistic development of rodeo at various locations and classifications influence political, economic, diversity in sports, and social changes over time. The study of rodeo history also reveals how the continuity of rodeo culture perpetuates ideals of American individualism and international recognition of the iconic American cowboy. Completion of a US survey course is recommended prior to taking this course.
