SPED 321 - Classroom and Behavior Management, I Credits: 3
The purpose of this course is to introduce the basic principles of human behavior and the application of those principles to establish effective instructional environments. Emphasis will be on common special education terminology and definitions as related to behavior management, strategies for building strong, positive relationships with students, the development and use of positive behavior supports for effective classroom management, organizing effective classroom management systems (e.g., schedules, procedures, routines, room set-up, consequences, monitoring, transitions, etc…), procedures for assessing and addressing the social needs of individuals and groups of students.
Prerequisites: Admission to Program.
