Exploration of contemporary issues facing Latin America today as viewed against the backdrop of the conquest and colonization of the “New World” The course begins with an overview of the cultures indigenous to the area and their many contributions to contemporary civilization. Texts include readings of testimonial literature, essays and poems. Conducted in Spanish. Students must have at least sophomore standing to register for this course. [available in odd years]
