Early Childhood Education Major [BAS]

Complete all Institutional Graduation Requirements. BAS students complete 45 general education credits.
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education requires a minimum of 60 credits to complete the major. A grade of “C-” or better is required for each course counting towards the major, but a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 is required for completion of the major. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements. This major does not lead to teacher licensure and does not meet the admissions requirements of most master’s degree programs. [Online-only program]
An Associate of Applied Science or Equivalent transfer degree (90 transfer credits) is required to declare this program.

Foundational Core
Students must complete the following courses as part of their APS/AAS from the Community College or within this major
Required Program Prerequisites: 6 credits
Students must complete these two courses and the program application to be admitted into the ECED program
Required Core Courses: 54 credits
CORE 1 COURSES (25 credits)
All ‘Core 1 Courses’ must be completed before entering Core 2
CORE 2 COURSES (29 credits)
Total credits required for major: 60
Elective Courses
Students must complete any additional courses necessary to bring the total number of credits to 180 [2+2 total credits = 180]
