Multidisciplinary Studies Major

Complete all institutional graduation requirements.

Multidisciplinary Studies requires a minimum of 71-84 credits to complete the major. A grade of “C-” or better is required for each course counting towards the major and a cumulative GPA of 2.00 is required for completion of the major. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements. [On-campus only major]

71 credits are required for the Multidisciplinary Studies Major for students who have also declared the Elementary Education Major
84 credits are required for the Multidisciplinary Studies Major for students who have only declared Multidisciplinary Studies

Literature Requirement


Choose one of the following courses:

Art Requirement : 3 credits


Choose any art course that is 3 credits

  • ART - Any art course Credits: 3

Life Science Requirement


Choose one of the following courses: [BIOL 101 is recommended by the program] 

Earth Science Requirement


Choose one of the following courses: [SCI 102 is recommended by the program] 

Physical Science Requirement


Choose one of the following courses: [SCI 103 is recommended by the program] 

Math Requirement: 12 credits


Take the following 3 math courses:

World History/Geography Requirement


Choose one of the following courses:

US History Requirement


Choose one of the following courses:

American Government Requirement


Music Requirement: 3 credits


Choose any combination of music courses to equal 3 credits

  • MUS Any Music course Credits: 1-3
  • MUP Any Music course Credits: 1-3

Take WR 122 and WR 123, or a 200 level or higher writing course:

Students who are only completing the Multidisciplinary Studies Major need to complete ENGL 316, upper division electives and capstone requirements below.
Students who have also selected the Elementary Education major do not complete the following requirements.
