MUS 311 - Chromatic Harmony & Jazz Theory

An extensive study of rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic devices associated with the music of the Romantic period, followed by an introduction to the harmonic language of jazz tonality. Half of the course will be devoted to the chromatic harmony of the 19th century and the other half will focus on the Great American Songbook.
