COM 346 - Rhetoric of Horror: Society and Identity*AEH Credits: 4
COM 346 increases theoretical knowledge from an interdisciplinary stance of what the horror film genre has to teach us about society, culture, and ourselves. We will consider ethical, moral, economic, and democratic implications for those stances through the readings and films we delve into throughout the course. Race, ethnicity, masculinity, gender, power, and trauma will also be explored materially throughout the quarter. Research, writing, and critical thinking skills are honed through analysis of important films that built the genre.
