Spanish Minor

A minimum of 24-32 graded credit hours. Choose either Option #1 or Option #2 from below based off your proficiency level.
At least 15 credit hours must be upper division
A minimum grade of “C-” is required in all courses counting toward the minor and a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.00 is required to complete the minor. 
A minimum of 10 graded credit hours counting toward the minor must be completed at Eastern Oregon University. S/U courses may not be elected for program requirements.
Students traveling abroad on a recognized study abroad program should have their courses approved by a faculty member in the Spanish program before traveling to ensure that they will fulfill the requirements of the minor.
Electives must be selected from upper division courses in literature, culture, film or translation in which the majority of the course in conducted in Spanish and reading and writing assignments are in Spanish.

Option #2: 24 Credits


Students with prior experience may, with Spanish faculty approval, complete Option #2

Oral Proficiency Exam


Prior to graduation, students must complete an Oral Proficiency Exam (given by arrangement), demonstration achievement or a rating of Intermediate-High on the ACTFL scale.

Total credits required for major: 24-32


If the requirements for the minor are not met at the time of graduation, the minor will not be awarded
