MUS 313 - Popular Music Theory

Credits: 3

An extensive study of rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic devices associated with popular song from Tin Pan Alley to current styles. Much of the course will be devoted to learning popular song notation, stylistic devices, forms and improvisational approaches.

Prerequisites: MUS 113 .
