SPED 320 - IEP Development and Implementation


Credits: 3

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the principles and components involved in educational planning for exceptional learners. Course content addresses guidelines for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and review, with emphasis on the use of assessment information to formulate strengths-based IEP goals and objectives for exceptional learners. Strategies for IEP implementation and daily planning are included. Strategies to support student-centered IEP planning and parental involvement in the IEP are presented. Finally, strategies for the development of individualized programming for culturally and linguistically diverse students will be introduced.

Prerequisites: Admission to Program.
