SOC 374 - Food & Society*SSC

Credits: 2

Food and eating are central to people’s daily lives. In this course, we will explore the relationship between food and issues of culture, access, and inequalities, from small-scale face-to-face interactions to the role of food in global systems. This course views food production, processing, distribution, and consumption as social and cultural phenomena. We will gain a better understanding of our own food choices and study the ways that social change can be enacted to work toward greater food justice.
